The street was my first attention economy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Before dashboards, funnels and creator platforms, I was a street performer. That sounds far removed from software, but the lesson has stayed surprisingly consistent. In the street, attention is brutally honest. Nobody owes you a click. Nobody is trapped in a feed. If the first few seconds do not create curiosity, people keep walking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I carried that instinct into online business. Over time, my questions changed from \u201chow do I get attention?\u201d to \u201cwhat is that attention worth if I do not control the relationship?\u201d A creator can have reach and still be fragile. The audience may sit on one social platform, the checkout on another service, the community somewhere else and the payment account under a separate set of rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is where my interest in creator infrastructure comes from. I am less interested in the fantasy of total independence than in something more practical: fewer single points of failure, better customer ownership and systems that are easier to recover when something changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why I built Bonzai<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Bonzai started from a recurring operational problem. Creator businesses tend to accumulate tools. One for checkout, one for email, another for community, another for affiliate management, another for landing pages. Each new tool can solve a problem, but the stack eventually becomes a problem of its own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bonzai is built to bring more of that work into one creator environment: digital products, courses, coaching, communities, email, affiliation and collaboration. Its current public creator documentation also states that creators do not need to open their own Stripe account to start taking payments through the platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I deliberately keep detailed pricing and payment claims out of this biography. They change. The commercial guides on this site link to current official product documentation and are updated when the underlying platforms change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What I keep coming back to<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Personal branding.<\/strong> Reputation becomes useful when people can connect your name to a clear body of work. A long r\u00e9sum\u00e9 is not the same thing as a strong association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Creator monetization.<\/strong> Followers are not a business model. Offers, customers, repeat purchases and direct audience access are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Platform dependency.<\/strong> Platforms are useful. Dependence is the part worth measuring. I write about payment architecture, marketplace risk and audience portability because those issues become expensive only after they are ignored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
