Bonzai vs Stan Store in 2026: Fees, Email, Courses and Affiliate Tools

Bonzai compared with other creator platforms for digital products, payments and monetization

Bonzai vs Stan Store in 2026: Fees, Email, Courses and Affiliate Tools

Stan Store and Bonzai both help creators turn social attention into sales, but the cost model is almost opposite. Stan charges a fixed monthly subscription and takes 0% as its own transaction fee, while Stripe or PayPal still process the payment. Bonzai can be started without a fixed monthly creator subscription and charges on transactions, while removing the need for the creator to manage a separate Stripe or PayPal account.

Updated August 2026. Stan pricing and payment details come from its current Help Center. Bonzai claims are based on its current creator page.

Disclosure: I am Jean-Marie Cordaro, Founder & CEO of Bonzai.pro. Some Bonzai links on this page are tracked affiliate links and may generate a commission at no extra cost to the reader. Stan Store can be the cheaper and simpler choice for some creators.

Stan is more capable than the old “link-in-bio store” label suggests

The $29 Creator plan already includes the storefront, booking, analytics, unlimited course creation, recurring subscriptions, lead magnets, email collection and community features. Creator Pro at $99 adds funnels, order bumps, advanced pricing, payment plans, email marketing, affiliate tools and more detailed analytics.

Stan’s own transaction fee is 0%. That is a real advantage once sales volume is meaningful. The payment itself is not free: Stripe or PayPal still charge their processing fees, and those costs vary with country, buyer location, currency and payment method.

Bonzai starts from a different problem

I built Bonzai around the fragmentation that appears after a creator outgrows a simple store. Products, courses, coaching, community, email, affiliation and collaboration can sit around one creator hub rather than being spread across separate services.

Bonzai states that creators do not need to connect their own Stripe or PayPal account. Its current pricing lists volume-based platform fees from 6% to 1% in EUR and from 5% to 0.7% in USD, plus banking fees. That makes the comparison less about “0% versus a volume-based fee” and more about which parts of the business each platform replaces.

At meaningful revenue, Stan can be cheaper

This is the part a comparison written by Bonzai’s founder should say plainly. A fixed subscription plus standard payment processing can beat percentage-based platform pricing as revenue grows. If you already have a reliable Stripe or PayPal setup, your Stan storefront converts well and you do not need several external tools, the economics can be excellent.

Bonzai has the opposite advantage at the beginning. There is no conventional fixed monthly creator subscription to recover before the first sale, and more of the creator stack sits in the same environment. The break-even therefore depends on revenue and on what software you would otherwise pay for separately.

Payments are the structural difference

Stan supports Stripe and PayPal. Its Help Center explains that the Stripe setup uses a Stripe Custom account created through Stan rather than simply connecting any existing standard Stripe account. Some advanced payment features also depend on the processor and the creator’s country.

Bonzai removes that account setup from the creator side. That can matter if your reason for looking at alternatives is payment-account dependency rather than storefront design. It does not mean Bonzai has no external financial infrastructure. Platform-managed payments still rely on banks, processors and compliance systems somewhere in the chain.

Courses and coaching are strong on both, but the buyer journey feels different

Stan is very natural for an Instagram or TikTok creator whose customer taps a profile link, sees a compact store and buys a course or books a call. The storefront is the center of the experience.

Bonzai is more useful when the course or coaching offer belongs to a wider body of creator content, subscribers, community and other products. The difference is less about whether each platform can host a course and more about what sits around the course.

Email changes the price comparison

Stan Creator collects leads. Its more complete email marketing tools, including broadcasts and flows, live on Creator Pro. That means a creator comparing the $29 plan with Bonzai should include the cost of any separate email service they still intend to use.

Bonzai puts subscriber capture and creator email closer to the sales workflow. If you already have an email platform you like and have no interest in replacing it, this advantage may be irrelevant. Keeping a good existing stack is often smarter than migrating for the sake of consolidation.

Stan Pro has become a credible affiliate and funnel product

Creator Pro now includes funnels, order bumps, payment plans, email marketing and affiliate tools. That makes Stan considerably more competitive for creators who want to optimize a small catalog of offers without moving to a larger marketing suite.

Bonzai’s affiliate model is more marketplace-oriented. It is designed not only to let your own customers or partners refer a product, but also to make eligible creator offers part of a wider affiliate distribution environment.

Which one would I choose?

I would choose Stan when the business is social-first, the storefront already does most of the selling, I am comfortable with Stripe or PayPal and I prefer a predictable subscription to a platform percentage. I would test Bonzai when I want products, audience capture, email and affiliate distribution closer together and do not want to manage my own payment processor account.

If the current setup is profitable and the migration does not remove a clear cost or failure point, I would not move. Switching platforms is work, and “new stack” is not a business outcome.
